Autumn Newsletter

Autumn Newsletter

Welcome to our End of Autumn Term Newsletter with a summary of some of our activity over the last couple of months.

As we close the year, we reflect on all that we have achieved this term. I’d like to start by thanking my staff, students and of course all parents for your support.

It was a pleasure to be able to invite parents to our evening Christmas Carol Service at St Mary’s the Virgin and to school for our Christmas Showcase. It was lovely to have so many talented students showcasing their hard work and commitment to developing their talents. A big thank you to Mrs Kiddell, Mrs Patel and our Music Peri’s for supporting our students to put on such a fantastic show.

Congratulations to Chloe P from Year 9 who won our Christmas Card Competition (as pictured) with second place going to Year 7, Violet E, and third place going to Frankie-Mae G also in Year 7. Well done to everyone who took part, it was a very hard decision to choose the winner.

This term we’ve had successes in Rugby, with both our Year 7s and Year 9s winning the Castle Cary County Cup and our Year 8s having a very impressive winning streak. We’ve also had a number of individual sporting achievements, congratulations to Ameila, Verity, Natasha, Joshua and Immy on your success this term. You can read more about their achievements in the newsletter.

As always, I am so proud of the kindness our students show to one another, especially to those that are new to the school. It’s been a joy to see students take full advantage and embrace every opportunity provided to them by the school with both hands.

Thank you all for supporting our events this year and for your very kind and generous donations to support our Christmas charities. I am delighted to share that we have raised £234.25 for the Children’s Hospice Southwest and £218.29 for School in a Bag. We also have 4 very full boxes of festive treats to donate to Good Company Bruton and the Brue Larder, so again thank you for your support. I look forward to sharing with you more exciting fundraising opportunities in the new year.
