NHS and Emergency Services at Sexey’s School

We understand that due to the nature of working for the NHS or Emergency Services with long working days and changing shift patterns families may require boarding to provide social stability as well as continuity of education for their children. We believe that the combination of our strong Christian values, excellent pastoral care and compelling academic results offer an ideal environment to meet the needs of all families.

State Boarding

As a state boarding school parents only pay the cost of boarding as education is covered by the state. This means that rather than paying £25,000+ a year for an independent boarding school, you will pay around £12,000 a year for full boarding at Sexey’s School. In additional to this, as a thank you all to NHS and Emergency Service workers, we offer an additional 10% discount off these fees.

Part-time Boarding

Part-time boarding is an addition to our current full time offer and allows those living locally the option to board up to 2 prearranged nights per week- giving students the flexibility to board and enjoy time at home.

Our Part-time boarding offer enables students who live outside of the schools catchment area but within an approximate 30 minute drive/15 mile radius of the school the option to board up to two prearranged nights per week choosing either Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday.

This might be especially useful for parents who are required to work long/unsociable hours or are required to work away from home.

Part-time boarding fees for 2022/23 admissions are £1,260 per term, £3,780 per year and we are delighted to be able to offer a 10% discount off these fees for NHS and Emergency Service workers.

The fees includes supervision and activities in the boarding houses, supported independent learning at prep time, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and overnight stay for two pre-arranged nights per week.

Pastoral Support

Pastoral support is managed by our experienced pastoral teams, the Director of Boarding, Boarding Houseparents and Assistant Houseparents. Sexey’s also has a number of trained wellbeing counsellors, and appointments can be made with them at any time. The Sanctuary is also open at set times for students to come and register their concerns, or to relax.
